Guv to make education announcement at 10

It’s about California’s eligibility for Race to the Top Funding. Hmmm… I wonder what the major announcement is. Teacher evaluations, perhaps?

From the governor’s press office:

Gov. Schwarzenegger will hold a press conference to make a major announcement regarding Race to the Top federal funding for education.

On July 24, President Obama and U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan outlined federal requirements for states to compete for the largest pool of discretionary funding for education reform in U.S. history – $4.35 billion in Race to the Top dollars available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Currently, California is ineligible to apply.

How will this effect Art Teachers?

Are there any “fairness” issues, with enrichment or Special Education Teachers??

Update: I’ve been listening to anticipatory, ESPN-like hold music for about 14 minutes. Still no Arnie.
