"Schools ensure regular teacher collaboration to
plan instruction for success of each student."

This is one of those easy lines that if you really work inside these schools you know is just SOOOOOOOOO much easier said than done. And how ironic, considering that the district is hardballing the teachers to cut elementary school prep time.

If teacher training, collaboration, and the new push for "individual education plans" for ALL students, not just special ed, were as much a priority as we hear, school would have to be dramatically re-engineered so that teachers spend less time with students -- or are paid for significant amounts of overtime.

There are simply only so many hours in the workday and most of them are spent with the students.

One problem I see is that nobody wants to admit that a big function of schools is CHILDCARE. Otherwise, we could have a shorter workday and the kids could do a lot more independent work, at home or in tutorial settings.

I know, I've run into the same problem when I've tried to print an entry.

I'll forward your suggestions to the people who update the blog software periodically to see if there's a fix for those things.

Katy, unless I'm missing something, there's no "Print" or "Email" button for these articles. It would help me and probably help you (with syndication) if there was one.

Printing this page gives a bunch of "unnecessary" Archive and category links from your sidebar.

Just a thought.
