The show was absolutely wonderful! I enjoyed watching these talented high school kids perform at a level way beyond the average high school musical production. The brothers especially had me laughing throughout the show. I specifically enjoyed Those Canaan Days, sung by Eli Shwartz, and Benjamin Calypso sung by Maymunah Rasheed.
The pit orchestra, set design and choreography and singing made this show a HIT! Check it out and support the Oakland Public Schools.

I love watching and listening to Amy and Adam perform. They are both awesome! But the rest of the cast is pretty impressive, too.

Besides my own kids, I’ve really enjoyed performances by Jonathan (Jacob), Jeremey (Pharoah), Michael (Potiphar) and Cecelia (Mrs. Potiphar).

And the rest of the cast and crew has really put their hearts and their talents into making the show the best it can be. Way, way more professional than you’d expect from high school and middle school kids, and better than some professional adult productions I’ve been to.

Yeah, I’ve already seen this show twice, and I’m not the least bit tired of it, so I’ll happily be going to closing night too – not just out of obligation to my own youngsters.

Excellent show! Really was wowed by the singing, dancing and of course the great pit orchestra under the direction of Vincent Toliver. Come be delighted!

Thank you, Harold, for the above comment, as well as the one you left under Katy’s “picket line” post.

Every OUSD naysayer, come see Amy and Adam in the lead roles of this musical. And watch the kids working together, both on stage, as the technical crew, and in the pit orchestra. There IS a bigger picture.

Especially at this time, with Senior Eric Toscano’s passing, the students need the support of their community. Please consider coming, and, for a moment, let that nasty taste get out of your mouths.

Shows at 7:30 PM on Thursday, April 1, Friday, April 2, and Saturday, April 3. $10 adults, $8 children and seniors

Saw the show tonight. It was very good; great singing, choreography, set design — all in all an uplifting experience. The pit orchestra is excellent. Check it out.
