I thought denise jeffery retired with a party at youth uprising????
I heard alot of admin went back to the classroom

  • Debora

    Congratulations to Mia Settles!

Mia is smart, articulate, respectful of staff, students and families, knows how to provide students with learning opportunities that not only raise test schools but give students the broad educational backgrounds often found (and paid for) in private schools and she has mentored other new principals.

If anyone on this blog wants to know how great OUSD and Oakland can be, spend an hour around Ms. Settles or an hour at Cleveland Elementary School.

  • Glenview Mom

FYI, Glenview Elementary has a new principal – Natalie Tovani-Walchuk.

  • Stakeholder

Why is Susan Ryan an administrator on special assignment? If this is accurate then there is some discrepancy between her resignation at CBITS and retention in the district. Seems like misdirection to slip a New (same old) district principal in through the back door.

  • Stakeholder 2

Why doesn’t OUSD consider the dropped test scores and high turnover rates of Susan Ryan’s two years at CBITS before hiring her back for this odd position? How does this district even have money to afford such a non-essential position? Must be her binding contract with New Leaders.

  • castlemont mom

I have heard only bad things about Susan Ryan, the former principal of CBITS.

  • Stakeholder

Tony Smith hires administrators and puppeteers the school board much the same way as Randolph Ward did in burying school board policy.
