That’s Tom Mayock. I don’t know if this still happens, but when I was at SEED he and Dale Eilers led the singing at assemblies every Monday. He sang in Spanish and in English; she stood alongside him and taught the whole school the signs for the songs. It was a wonderful way to start the week. Dale, by the way, was one of the four finalists for Oakland Teacher of the Year last year, and received a pink slip last weekend. Tom taught a group of children music after school; he probably still does. I am proud that I taught with them for three years.

Its nice to see students, teachers, OPD PSO Officers, and City Councilmembers in the video all walking together. I have seen OPD and OUSD PD Officers come to various schools and community events. (Unlike the gang lawyers or OEA would like us to think).
