One good blog deserves another

If you’re interested in the vagaries of transportation, oil prices and related topics (and you probably are, or you wouldn’t be reading this), the LA Times has a red-hot blog on the subject, the Bottleneck Blog. We discovered it whilst surfing for stories on gas prices - they linked to a news story by this writer (that is, me) about the predicted ripple effect on goods and services. Stay tuned for a longer story on that in this paper!

enVIroCTORY! EPA can regulate vehicle emissions

Today, the Supreme Court ruled that our country’s Environmental Protection Agency has authority to regulate vehicle emissions said to cause global warming. The Sierra Club and other environmental activist groups exulted at the decision rejecting the Bush administration’s arguments that limits on new cars and trucks would be minor and not help solve pollution problems said to be caused by increased carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Perhaps scenes like the one depicted in the photo at left (thanks, Simone Ramella) will become a thing of the past. We can only hope!
