Week 5 Question Submission

You got questions?  We got answers.  Ask away in the comments to this post and we’ll give you better advice than we did last week…but in my defense that was week when the Chiefs, Rams and Raiders all had leads at the same time.  Every season’s got a Bizarro Week or two in there.

But I digress.  We already received a question because I was slow on the trigger posting this thread, so it’s duplicated and answered below.

Dave: I have been offered Steve Smith, Chris Johnson and Desean Jackson for my #1 RB Steven Jackson. My other RB’s are Maurice Jones-Drew, Steve Slaton and Earnest Graham, which aren’t a bad trio. Would like to have that top tier WR but afraid of giving up my legit #1 RB. What do you think?

Answer: I’d take the trade.  Steven Jackson has had a down year and he’s on an abysmal team that’s going to fall behind a lot and have to go pass-happy to catch up and those are three very good players.  Chris Johnson is on a great team, Steve Smith is a top-tier WR and Desean Jackson has been outperforming everyone’s expectations.  In the long run you’d be getting more points than you’d be giving up.

I’m back again, had a great week thanks to some good advice, had the highest score and am now top ranked in my league. Anyways, looking for some more tips.

First off WR, I’ve been starting Greg Jennings but after the Rodgers injury, should I be worried about starting him? I assume Rodgers would play, but if not would it be worth looking else where? I have:

    Greg Jennings vs ATL
    Santana Moss @ PHI
    Desean Jackson vs. WAS
    Eddie Royal vs. TB

I can pick 2, also not sure on a swing guy, can pick any of the WR’s or:

    Brandon Jacobs vs SEA
    Jonathan Stewart vs KC
    Reggie Bush vs MIN

I assume starting Gore and LT would be a pretty easy decision. I haven’t heard much of SEA (at least the DEF) but I imagine Jacobs and the Giants should be well rested. I’ve been starting Bush but leaning towards Jacobs, for no reason more than a feeling, any opinions? And thanks again for all the help.

For the wide receiver I’d go with Jennings and Moss (#1 and #2 in receiving yards, believe it or not) but check back here Sunday morning, if Rodgers is a no-go make it Moss and Jackson.

For the swing man I’d put in Jonathan Stewart. There’s a lot of rushing yards to go around against the Chiefs and the Giants may lean on the pass even without Plax.
