Live Q&A at Noon Today…Again

We’ll be at it again noon-1 p.m. today. There will be questions answered, probably a mention of Matt Schaub and if recent history is any indication heated disputes on the future of at least one local football team.

Week 11 In Review

What’s this?  A new feature?  That’s right, down the home stretch we’re trying out some new things to give you that final push to win your league/make the playoffs/get out of last place.

One of those, as the post title suggests, is a Week in Review.

Every Tuesday from here on out one of us will post a rundown of what happened in the past few days from a fantasy perspective.  Things like breakout performances, debuts, busts and injuries.  All the things you may have missed that have some sort of fantasy impact.  Or that I find funny.

And of course we’re welcome to suggestions.  We’re doing this for you after all, so anything that would help you out we’re probably open to.

So let’s get to it.

Week 12 Question Submissions

You aren’t asking us things!  We feel so useless over here.  We just wander around the newsroom looking lost, offering unsolicited fantasy advice to random staffers and occasionally furniture.  I told the chair to start Peyton Hillis.

Put your questions in the comments here so people stop looking at me like I’m crazy.

Grading Our Week 11

This is a first.  I actually got one of my Gametime Decision calls wrong.  Imagine my surprise, sitting in traffic on 101, as the radio described Clinton Portis running out of the tunnel after I listed him as a ‘Not Playing’ that morning.  That was fun.

Otherwise?  Jeremiah and I didn’t disagree on anything in the chat (other than the Niners’ wide receiver corps’ future) so we tied with a perfect score.

On the Start/Bench front…well…I believe mixed is the word.  Bench won but both were up and down.  Three players on All-Start combined for 49 of the team’s 77 points, while four players on All-Bench combined for 76 of the team’s 86.

On to the numbers.  First the chat then the Start/Bench:

Gametime Decision for Week 11

It’s a good week.  Very few fantasy contributors are injured, aside from the ones you’ve written off long ago.  Unless you’re the guy with Clinton Portis, play everyone.

Playing

Derrick Mason
Larry Johnson
Kyle Orton
Frank Gore
Warrick Dunn
Earnest Graham
Reggie Wayne
JaMarcus Russell

Not Playing

Clinton Portis
Josh Morgan

Week 11 Start/Bench

I’ve attempted to post this three times in the last two days and every time it has failed, so I’m too annoyed for jokes and commentary.  I’m just going to click publish again and hope for the best.  Wish me luck.

Team: Game (Season)
All-Start: 118 (846)
All-Bench: 46 (653)

Week 11 Q&A NOW!

The weekly Q&A is happening at noon, which is about 11 minutes from now.  So go.  Join in.  Ask questions.  Heckle.  Whatever.  My point is it’s probably going on right now.

Here’s a link.  You have no excuse.

Rating Our Advice for Week 10

Inconsistent week on the Start/Bench front.  While I nailed both All-Start running backs (combined 59 points by two players) the wide receivers weren’t quite so hot (19 total points among three players).  But really, who expected Steve Smith, the good one, to get shut out against the Raiders?

However leave it to the Lions to post the first negative score of the season on either All-Start or All-Bench with an impressively bad -3 points.

Gametime Decision for Week 10

It’s actually not a terrible week for injuries, at least compared to recent weeks.  Only a couple major starters are out and they’re mostly old injuries so odds are you already have a backup plan in place.

Also, Daunte Culpepper will be starting for the Lions just five days after being signed and over a year since last seeing the field.  That’s not fantasy advice or anything, I just find it hilarious.

Playing

Jonathan Stewart
LaMont Jordan

Not Playing

Willie Parker
Steven Jackson
JaMarcus Russell
Darren McFadden
Deion Branch
