Jim Sturgess vs. James McAvoy: Euro hottie smackdown!

It seems that Across the Universe star Jim Sturgess is in serious contention for 2008’s Euro “It” Boy! But he is facing stiff competition with Atonement’s Euro boy du jour, James McAvoy!
This is definitely the hottie smackdown of the year!

Both dress very dandy and dapper with modern pizzazzz. Although McAvoy is seen more in the entertainment spotlight with a landslide of films under his belt - BUT Sturgess is slowly gaining ground wiht a flood of upcoming films.
Although both of them fall under the Euro category, they differ in that McAvoy has this “high school football” star quality about him who would be voted “most popular” and Sturgess seems more of the laid-back fellow, that guy in art class who was the likeable rebel that smoked cigarettes in the parking lot.
It is certainly a toss up. Orlando Bloom is definitely out of the running.

Personally, I find Jim Sturgess’s face more pleasant. His casualness is gorgeous, but he also looks great in formal attire. He’s polite and intelligent, too. I’m sure James McAvoy possesses those gentleman qualities, but I find Jim Sturgess the more attractive Brit.
Sturgess is a golden boy in the making.

I believe Jim Sturgess is a lot more attractive. He has his scruffy look to him which makes me melt in any guy. And the way they described him as “that guy in art class who was the likeable rebel that smoked cigarettes in the parking lot” is definately the type of guy I would date, rather than the football player. And plus; Jim Sturgess is always going to be my favorite actor.

Jim Sturgess is definetly the hotter one of the two. He just seems (what ive seen and read in interviews and what not) more laid back and fun. And he has better hair, AND HE CAN SING. And i have seen more movies with Sturgess in them that Mcavoy: Across the Universe, the Other Boleyn Girl, and im seeing 21 next week. I havent even seen Atonement..Anyway, Sturgess= Hotter. I mean, have you seen Across the Universe?

Jim Sturgess all the way, baby. I like James as well, and maybe he could win if he was put up against someone OTHER than Jim, but he doesn’t stand a chance in this fight.. sorry.

I think James McAvoy is uncontrollably attractive. There’s something about his eyes that’s very vulnerable and open. The first time I noticed him was in the trailer for Becoming Jane. The way that he looked at his partner in the dance just took my breath away… Then I saw Atonement…

I agree with basically everyone here, it’s definitely Jim!! I have never seen a movie with that other guy, but I’ve seen Across the Universe (multiple times) and 21 as well. Jim Sturgess is the most gorgeous celebrity I can think of. He’s charming, humorous, an AMAZING singer, and he obviously has crazy good looks!!

I have to agree: Jim Sturgess all the way. I saw him in Across the Universe and i could not concentrate throughout the whole movie because i just kept thinking about how uncontrollably hot he was (and ho wgood his voice was). I also saw him in 21 and he looked so cuuute except suprisingly un-charismatic but i supose thats because he was playing a nerd. I have seen Atonement and I think Mccavoy is good looking, but not like Hot or anything. And Jim seems funner,funnier and more laid back i guess.

Speaking as a straight bloke, I’m not exactly bothered by their looks. They are BOTH excellent actors. However, I’m probably one of the few that hopes that Jim Sturgess gets a BREAK in his filming schedule. That guy doesn’t just sing, he is an amazing composer and musician. Global pantie-wetting surely awaits…

Jim Sturgess is hott, and a great singer. But James McAvoy is sexxxyyy!! I have to say that James McAvoy is more sexy. He just has that look and act about him. But Jim Sturgess is so laid back and has that SEXY ACCENT. Ahhhh!! JAMES MCAVOY WINS IN THE END!! I’m so sorry, Jim..

Dude, McAvoy blows Jim Sturgess away, talent-tise. And aside from that, he’s hilarious. Jim is very cute, but James is far more charismatic and–dare I say–interesting. McAvoy all the way.

James Mcavoy is probably not as obviously attractive, lacking the hollywood looks, but I think this gives him the advantage acting-wise. From the performances I’ve seen he has an excellent ability to transform himself physically, simply by the way he holds himself, enabling him to play both more charismatic attractive leading roles (Atonement/ Becoming Jane for example) as well as parts that demand a actor with a more down to earth look (geeky university student in Starter for 10). I find it quite refreshing that this young Scot of moderately good looks can firmly plant his feet in the acting world based on his strong performances, not just a pretty face. From Orlando Bloom I think it’s evident that the latter can only get you so far.

oh please? Jim Sturgess? No way! James McAvoy is definetly the stunner here. Hes aboslutey beautiful, with those gorgeous blue eyes and definetly the better actor. We’ve seen two academy award nomiations for him recently from Atonement AND Last King of Scotland! But thats not even the point. Check him out in Wanted. He is by far the most gorgeous thing to come out of Europe. Hes unbeleivably charming, interesting, respectful and charasmatic. And really funny. So, yes,James Mcavoy most definetly wins this ones, no doubt about it. Jim doesn’t have a chance. Just like his movie “21″.
