I appreciate the right for teens and children to have their own fashion voice, but when they start attaching socially retarded mannerisms and ridiculous attitude to it, that’s when I start to draw the line.
It’s bad enough that we had to deal with the whole “I’m-so-tortured” emo look, now we have to deal with the “I’m-so-tortured-and-have-a-bad-attitude” look with this new trend for “Scene Kids.”
Heavy eye makeup, tattered clothing, skinny jeans, Converse shoes, graphic T-shirts, Vans, dark (or blonde) hair, tiaras: all of these are necessities for Scene Kids. Basically, you have to look like Courtney Love during her earlier Hole days. Think emo, except more homeless-chic. This site gives you a full guide in how to be “scene”

Oh my god, you have no idea how much I DESPISE emo, scene kids, whatever the eff you want to call them to the fullest extent. I’ve seen this one person’s Myspace page, and it’s just ridiculous how they dress, not to mention how they act in life. It’s so fucking stupid.

ok, seriously, “emo” and “scene” kids aren’t all , I’m-so-tortured kid, most of them are kids who have a good time. They aren’t social outcasts, they actually are friends to ALOT of people, and if oyu think about it. “PREPS” take styles FROM emo kids, so I don’t know what your deal is. NO ONE is getting tired of emo or scene because ALMOST everyone copies it!

I 100% agree with Anonymous. to me, it’s funny when i see SOME emo/scene kids acting like their lives are horrible when i’ve been through so much worse, and i hate been down and out. ironically dressing “scene”, teasing and harispraying my hair, and going to shows. makes my life so much funner. especially in the area i live in, no one even knows what a scene kid is. it makes my life a whole lot more interesting. and it is true that everybodys taking parts from the emo/scene style

ok i understand the arguement about emo and scene. I myself are one of the emos… you have no idea what we kids go through and the life we live in now a days. no its not the peer pressure and the stress of home and school. its now the love of music and the thought that we are able to change how life is run. life can be so much better if you were for once put in our shoes. see things in the light that we live in. you hear stories about how emo and scene cut themselves, well stop being nieve like the world and only believing in what the fucken world tells them. that is a steriotypic saying not true in any way! emo is a style, a love, a hope, a view, an expression, and a life! if anyone has a problem with the way kids now a days chose to live feel free and email me your comments… ( emomanshadows@gmail.com ) but for my final say in this is that this style has been around a lot longer then u even know and its better than these kids expressing the way they feel through gang and violence. they dont hurt themselves but all of the people like you make it hard for us to live a normal life. so live life through thoughts of inspiration… i lived a hard life, not as hard as most of the ones you see around. i moved 12 times in 2 months and was beaten when i was younger, family trying to kill you cuz your not like them… like you… never having friends, never being able to listen to any kind of music, living on the streets, no food and having to find some from others, no money to do anything and to run away so your family can live and you dont. i watch as my family had a better life cuz i decided to give up mine for others. thats what all us emo and scene do at one point in time. we give up what we have and own so that we may let others exspirence the joys in life. now if you want to say that we are retarded then now you obviously havent met one of us. we are byfar one of the most intellectual people you will ever meet. i graduated with a full scholarship to any tech school i wanted to go to. i knew graphic arts before i finish high school. my art is posted up in a museum and im huge in southern california. dont judge us for what you hear and see. i will tell you now what makes you ne better than us. what do any of you have that i dont. i guarentee you that in the end and even now i have and lived a better life than you can ever imagen. do me a favor before you EVER JUDGE ANYONE… LISTEN, UNDERSTAND, LIVE, AND SEE WHAT THEY ARE BEFORE U SAY ANYTHING… OR YOU WILL AT ONE POINT IN TIME WILL HAVE TO ANSWER TO ME… TRUST ME THATS NOT WHAT ANY OF YOU WANT… this is from an EMO to the world.. we are the rising style and life… there are more of us than any other groups and thats a fact… dont think were going away… live life before u despise it… the power of love before the love of power…

First off, It sounds terribly pathetic to label yourselves as emo or scene.
But whats really important is…
Your stereotyping/critisizing us by the way we dress.
Its just our own creative unique way of dressing. That picture you posted up there. Is something called photography. A scene kid is someone with their own uniqe look and at many times likes or hope to get into photography. Even then some of us just view the world differently. But just because we dont always LOOK like were happy doesnt mean we arent. Its just the way we prefer to look. People have different ways of expressing… But the fact that you judge by sight. or by ONE persons blogging/opinion; is terribly pathetic and goes to show how hypocrytical you could possibly be.
