Sure, the sun may be glaring off his face that is worth a million dollars, but it’s David Beckham.
The dapper Englishman-turned-American resident, made his appearance in SF’s Union Square to unveil his new Emporio Armani underwear ad for Macy’s and despite the warm weather, people started flocking to the square like…like…people coming to see an internationally renowned celeb.
Okay…he’s not “baring it all” but how else could I get you to read this post?

Yeah, I was slated to be an Emporio Armani underwear model too, but they said my rugged handsomeness was too much to handle. They wanted something with a little more subtlety - like Beckham. But people have said I look like a Filipino David Beckham.
Well, there are some new peeps who decided to jump into some classic Chucks and offer their artistic voice to the best sneaker brand in the world.

I worked the red carpet like no one’s business, but I still have to sort through all my pics and recorded interviews - so I will have those up for you later. But there is one bit of red carpet fodder that I must share with you right now - the best dressed of the evening goes to the The L-Word star Jennifer Beals in this gorgeously color graded Badgley Mischka slinky gown. I just could not stop gushing about this dress:

And no, she was not wearing a pair of leg warmers underneath nor did she perform a routine to “What a Feeling.”
Highlights of the evening:
A fierce dance routine by ceremony host Candis Cayne of Dirty Sexy Money…
William Baldwin’s (also from Dirty Sexy Money) surprisingly good role as a charismatic live auctioneer - and I’m serious about that. He was really working the crowd…
GLAAD President, Neil G. Giuliano and his flawlessly articulate storytelling abilities…
Alan Cumming’s accent…
Sharon Stone’s acceptance speech…
The trailblazing wonder that is David Mixner and Judith Light’s unbelievable verbal praise she gave him…
Mayor Gavin Newsom giving Theater Rhinoceros executive director, John Fisher a playful kiss on the cheek…
The fact that I inhaled my dinner in less than five minutes…
…I’m sure there are more moments, but I will tell you those as I remember them. Meanwhile, enjoy a list of this year’s honorees:

So Keith Richards is the new face of Louis Vuitton. I can make all these jokes using Richards’ age as the punchline, but I won’t. Mainly because it’s the legendary Keith Richards. It’s an odd pairing and they make it work, but c’mon - who really needs a LV guitar case?
Yes, even celebrities get wedgies. The folks at Hanes have started their Wedgie-free campaign with actress Sarah Chalke…
Ain’t she cute?
The ads were directed by her Scrubs buddy Zach Braff. As for the actual anti-riding up undies - they are a stroke of genius. And don’t act like you haven’t pulled one out in public before - and yes that includes you guys too.
I remember when I got my first pair of Converse All Stars. They were the classic hi-tops - and I still have them today. I even have a pair of the preppier Jack Purcell Converse - but no matter how many holes or tears or stains my original black ones endure, I will never get rid of them.
After 100 years, the shoes remain a commodity for every single man and woman. The style may have been tinkered with, but when it comes down to it, they remain true to the originals worn by Chuck Taylor.
If you look to your left and turn your head to the side, you can take a gander at Converse’s new campaign called “Connectivity,” celebrating “100 years of disrupting the status quo.”
Grabbing icons from the music, art, sports and fashion, the campaign literally connects people who have adorned the distinguishable one star logo on their ankles: technotronic dance haller M.I.A., Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong, urban poet Common and the original rebel himself, James Dean.
The title of this campaign sums up the genuine shoe label of Americana: Connectivity. No matter if your a man, woman, child, punk rocker, preppy, jock, urban hipster, hip-hop sneaker head, Wall Street broker or red carpet celebrity - the shoe translate all across the globe. Everyone can afford a pair. You can dress them up, dress them down. They match with everything. They are the shoe to have. No matter what the trends are, the classic Converse hi-tops will always be in vogue.
If you have never owned a pair, where the hell have you been for the past 100 years?
(from top to bottom) Hunter S. Thompson, Dwyane Wade, Sid Vicious, M.I.A., James Dean, Karen O, Common, Joan Jett and Billie Joe Armstrong.
