Okay, so I know I just wrote a “Throwback Thursday” post on Hypercolor shirts, but I ran across the BET Awards performance with En Vogue, SWV, TLC and Alicia Keys and I just had to post something about it.

This had to be one of the ultimate throwback moments of the year! I love Alicia and all, but I just wanted more of En Vogue, SWV and TLC!
…and the ladies of En Vogue are looking delectably hot! In all that black! Destiny’s Child is cool and all but they can’t stand up to the original FUNKY DIVAS! That is some contemporary girl group hotness right there!
As for SWV and TLC - they take me back to simpler times when I sang “Weak” with fervor and gusto and when “CrazySexyCool” was on repeat in my Discman.
Then I watched it and I was staring blankly at the screen without a glimmer of excitement in my eye. I was more entertained by watching the I’m F*cking Ben Affleck video for one hour straight.
I dont’ know what it was. Maybe it was because this was filmed a while back and the music they featured has been overplayed. Or maybe it’s because they featured older collections. Or maybe…I am burnt out on fashion. Wait a second…THAT’S BLASPHEMOUS!
With so many female celebs going to jail, getting DUIs, showing their crotches, getting sloshed, making a mockery of Hollywood and giving tabloids gossip meat to feed on like vultures to rotting carcasses, we seldom see the real ladies of Hollywood.
Now I am sure these ladies are not perfect angels, but they know how to keep their stardom and personal lives separate while maintaining dignity. We see them for what their talent and nothing else. They are great role models of style and are far from that trash heap that many other female A-minus-listers hang around too often. They prove that you can be famous without being sleazy.
So this is dedicated to all the ladies of Hollywood who are genuinely ladies:
Jennifer Hudson, the girl of our dreams
Scarlett Johansson - the perfect example of a modern Hollywood starlet
Harvard graduate and she can act (not to mention gorgeous) - Natalie Portman is fabulous from all angles
Ali Larter is a “Hero” who knows how to keep her life, looks and talent in order
America Ferrera knows how to work the red carpet and the homegirl has an Emmy - and I don’t think she has ever shaved her head and had mental breakdown in public
Sassy, stylish and a Grammy winning singer - I heart Alicia Keys
Anne Hathaway has shown that you can be racy, funny and dramatic in her movies, yet still keep it together in the public eye - YOU GO GIRL!
Gorgeous! Glamorous! And she can act AND sing! Emmy Rossum stays under the tabloid radar and still remains on the A-list
Even though this cute vintage-looking purple frock seems more casual, it was appropriate for an event of this caliber. Actually, this was one of many outfits Alicia Keys wore to the American Music Awards. It’s young, fresh and tasteful - but Miss Keys can rock anything she wears.
That is one of the greatest answers of all time such as for example in Iraq and in Bolivia ergo the education system afford maps and therefore the, uh such as we are here and it’s good to have a, uh, such as the influence. Thank you, such as vis-a-vis, therefore.
When I turn 70 years old, I want to be just like David Wolfe, creative director of The Doneger Group. He spends his day scoping out MTV, trends and hanging out in boutiques to give us a reliable fashion forecast. Check out his report on the top ten trends of the upcoming season. I wish I were as cool as him. He is definitely my new hero.
Thanks to MySpace, FASHION can truly be your friend alongside your ex-boy/girlfriend and those former high school classmates who you added as friends but you know you will never talk to. Designers like Alexander McQueen and Donna Karan already have active pages and ad campaigns on the narcotic social networking site. With this new page, fashionistas finally have a place that they can prove who knows more about fashion. Check out this video review here:
Gearing up for her next album, “As I Am,” Alicia Keys has turned down the volume a bit on her glam and looks a lot more…natural, relaxed and effortless. She still looks hot though.
Rilo Kiley is hot. The lead singer, Jenny Lewis is hot. The name of their newest album, Under the Blacklight is hot. Their Sept. 6 performance at the San Francisco’s Warfield will be hot. This picture of the group is hot:
I think Jenny may be on the verge of being a style icon this year - and maybe in the upcoming years as well. Her ’60s-meets-emo-meets-Parisian style can be duplicated but there’s a fashionable aura around her that makes her own the look.
…and of course she will never live her role as Shelley Long’s daughter on Troop Beverly Hills (one of my favorite movies I might add) down. She was a performer long before Rilo Kiley was a glimmer in her eye. See if you can spot her in this clip:
Watch out you cell-phone gabbin’ teenagers! A law banning texting and talking on your cell phone whilst driving - even hands free - is on the verge of being passed by the California Senate. Wouldn’t it be easier just to get rid of teen drivers altogether?
First Sarah Jessica Parker, then Amanda Bynes and now Venus Williams! Retailer Steve & Barry’shas teamed up with the tennis diva for a line of active lifestyle clothing and footwear called EleVen.
