It’s no secret that Amy Adams is one of my many Hollywood crushes (for proof, click here, here and here). So when I saw this picture of her at the New York premiere of Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day, I had to gush about her some more.
The dress looks pretty severe. It’s dark color palette mixes with the structural design with a menacingly mod vibe. It’s like the polar opposite of how she looks in the movie:

The ’40s clothing for the movie comes from the glamorous mind of costume designer Michael O’Connor. The breathtaking vintage fare is enough for me to go watch the movie - I really don’t care what the plot line is.
And isn’t Amy’s infectious smile a dollop of sweet joy?

I am sure that the blogosphere has exploded with the latest “Hollywood Issue” of Vanity Fair and it’s probably old news - but I just can’t stop staring at it. These are the real ladies of Hollywood. For once, it was nice to see a magazine that didn’t have the mugs of Brit or Paris - these females live up to the image of a lady. The spread (shot by Annie Liebowitz) includes actresses Emily Blunt, Amy Adams, Jessica Biel, Anne Hathaway, Alice Braga, Ellen Page, Zoë Saldana, Elizabeth Banks, Ginnifer Goodwin, and America Ferrera. All of them look flawlessly fresh and stunning, dressed in feminine “Old Hollywood” garments drenched in an Easter egg color palette.
For real, I can just stare at this picture for hours.

Me: Ever since Amy Adams was on The Office I have not been able to stop loving her. What do you think of the Proenza Schouler gown - and a useless little mesh purse?
Mary: I love Amy Adams, and I salute her choice of colors with that dark emerald green, but that neckline, strapless but kind of low on the boobs? It’s my least favorite gown look. I just don’t get why so many women wear it. Katie Holmes seems really into it; remember that awful bright red dress she wore for some dumb party with Posh and Becks? Looked like it was going to fall off her breasts at any second.
Me: If her breasts fell out, that would add some excitement to the red carpet.
