SOFTBALL RANKINGS
(last week’s ranking in parentheses; records through May 5)

1. Notre Dame (1) 16-8: No. 2 seed can earn share of first WCAL crown by winning tourney
2. Half Moon Bay (2) 18-4-1: Can de-throne 5-time defending PAL Bay champ Carlmont w/ win today
3. Carlmont (3) 21-7: Needs wins over HMB & Burlingame to land a co-championship in Bay
4. Burlingame (5) 12-10-1: Streaking Panthers can lock up CCS bid by winning at Aragon today
5. Aragon (4) 17-9-1: Late rally not enough at HMB; battles Burlingame for Bay’s third place
6. Hillsdale (6) 10-14: Despite ruling of three forfeits, Knights record pair of Bay wins last week
7. Capuchino (7) 11-12-1: Pilster strong in 1-0 loss to Burlingame; then Carlmont too hot for Mustangs
8. Terra Nova (9) 21-3: Looks to clinch PAL Ocean title & CCS bid by beating Menlo on Wed.
9. Woodside (8) 16-6: 6-4 loss to Sequoia on Mon. likely to cost Wildcats share of Ocean title
10. Mills (NR) 9-13: Looked sharp in leading most of contest in 6-5 defeat to Half Moon Bay
