There is nothing better than that first cup of hot coffee on a crisp, cool morning. One of my favorite activies this time of year is enjoying the “Fleet Week” show – right in front of my living room window! Man, those hummers are busy, busy, busy. I have a six station saucer shaped feeder hanging right under the eaves….it is never busier than in the fall with all six stations full – and watching the “owner” dive bombing all the visitors is spectacular. There is no way to fend off the diners now, there are so many the poor guy would exhaust himself trying. I am refilling the feeder with 16 ounces of nectar just about daily! What a fabulous show………..I find myself totally enthralled every day. I will be sad when the activity slows down in a few weeks, but for now – to heck with the housework, on with the show!!!!
