ViP veterinary services uses real vets and sells meds at reasonable prices. There is a need for such services since most veterinary practices take the liberty of a big markup. Find yourself a good vet but definitely use the VIP mobile vet service for basic things like heartworm testing, heartworm meds, flea/tick meds, vaccines (please do not over vaccinate beyond the puppy set– your dog probably has lifetime immunity to the viral diseases and everyday exposure to them boosts immunity).

I am in a bit of a quandry about some things my vet has told me and what she has said about another mobile pet vacination company. I like my vet but I feel she expects me to buy all of the medications and flea/tick medications from her when she charges much more than 30% more than this other company. She gave me a prescription for heartworm meds and wrote on it “USA product only”, no refills, and that my dog will need another heartworm test in Mar.2011 when he just had one and it was good. I get the feeling she wants all of my money. In these economic times I am trying to save all I can. Is she trying to gouge me? Do I really need to worry about the meds I get from VIP? I have gotten my dogs meds from VIP before and have no reason to believe they are selling me bad stuff. Please advise me ASAP.
