I was sitting at my computer in Pleasanton when I felt the first small jolt of the earthquake, followed by a gentle rolling motion, back and forth, for about 15 seconds. My cat Mollie became alert 2-3 seconds after the first jolt and then launched her 15 pound body off the chair and ran upstairs. (Upstairs is safer??) My little Chihuahua, Chica, became and barked a couple of times, but I can' be sure if that was in response to the earthquake or the cat suddenly leaving the room. Sorry you missed the action... it was interesting.

Tawny, my 12 year old tabby normally greets me with ankle rubs when I come home in the evening. Last night he started running at break neck speed from room to room all around the house. Two minutes later everything started rolling here in Pittsburg.
Guess it wasn't my presence that excited him after all.

I almost missed the earthquake, because my cat, Zoe, was busy climbing all over and around me at the time. This is normal behavior for her when she feels like it (randomly). She was either completely oblivious, or was trying to tell me something!

My husband was the one who noticed the shaking from just a few feet away. When he mentioned it, I noticed that all of the Halloween decorations that are hanging from our ceiling were rockin' and rollin'. Ohhhhhh, yeah. Earthquake, as experienced from our home in Antioch.
