BARSTOW, Calif. — A pack of pit bulls surrounded a woman and mauled her to death, authorities said Wednesday (Dec. 26). Police found Kelly Caldwell, 45, lying on the street around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, and took her to a hospital, where she later died, the San Bernardino County sheriff’s department said.

Is there something in the air?

I thoroughly enjoyed your article about your son in Antarctica. I was just at the Palmer Station in December. What an incredible experience for him. I am a wee bit jealous. It takes a special kind of person to do that kind of work and live in those conditions. I had the opportunity to meet the NSF director of Logistics and she told us about a new building that is being planned at McMurdo. It is going to be raised and lowered by jacks–as in car jacks.
    Thank you for sharing.
