I've spent many years making sure my guys (mainly my panic stricken dog-the cats don't seem to care) were safe at home on the 4th of July. (It got to the point of canceling my plans and staying home too.) Even when we put Ember on tranquilizers for the night, I didn't want to chance leaving her alone, and never did.) The last couple of years she couldn't hear, so it wasn't an issue, but we were still together. She died a month ago today & I'll miss cuddling with her on the couch on the 4th. I wish I could have just one more day with her. Please be careful with your pets. You never know which day/holiday will be their last.
