Last Friday’s 4.0 earthquake — how did your pets react?

We had a 4.0 earthquake last Friday (Sept. 5) at 9 p.m. near Alamo. It was felt all around the Bay Area.
Did any of your pets react before, during, or after the quake?
Please describe what happened — how your pets acted — and e-mail it to me at gbogue@bayareanewsgroup.com.
Thanks. I’ll print the results here and in my column. /Gary

Here in Moraga we did feel it and our dog Lexi, a German Shepherd did jump up and hide under my desk for several hours. It felt like a rolling motion and in the kitchen the dishes started rattling but no damage. We didn’t feel any after shocks. Nancy

Gary both of our cats slept through the earthquake this weekend. (And the 2 Siamese cats we had previously slept through the Loma Prieta quake in ’89 as well1)

Most people don’t have a house full of parrots. I do because I babysit for parrots. After getting everyone bedded down for the night, I was finally able to put my feet up and relax. Ahhhh. Well, one 4.0 jolt had all the parrots in a tizzie. A parrot nanny’s work is never really done! I’m just glad they were here with me and not home alone.
