Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! As always, my husband and I cannot tellyou enough how much we enjoy your column. We had debated about renewing our subscription to the San Mateo County Times, and the presence of your column was one of the major factors in our decision to continue.

We have to let you know that we were almost rolling on the floor today after reading about Mr. Toes and his stash of treasures. We were also deeply touched by the tribute to the mountain lion submnitted by one of your readers in a column about two weeks ago. I had meant to clip it out, and forgot to do so, Could you please let me know where I can find it?

Thank you, too, for all you are doing on behalf of the woodpeckers in Rossmoor. We were recently thrilled to discover that a woodpecker has taken up residence in a hollowed our branch of our maple tree. The awareness of habitat protection that you are promoting is such a critical element of the “green” movement!
