No cat worth it&#039;s genes will admit to comprehending any human language, though saying &quot;vet&quot; in my household produces an instant absence of cats, and &quot;dinner&quot; produces the opposite.  I think they understand damn near everything we say.  It must take a lot of energy to continue pretending otherwise; that&#039;s why they always claim to be hungry, despite the ever-present dishes of dry cat food.]]></description>
