More backyard adventures …
Dear Gary:
We have hung a bowl under our bird feeder to catch seeds from falling to the ground. Somehow the critter (opossum) in the above picture got into the bowl to eat what was there.
We don’t know how he got there but to get down he jumped/tumbled into plants below and ambled off under the fence for his next adventure.

We live in Martinez, Calif., and our photo (opossum in a bowl) was taken about 6:30 p.m., May 24, 2009.

Dear Barb & Carl:
Strange thing about opossums. They pop up in the funniest places.
I got a note from a lady in San Francisco a couple of years ago. She was getting dressed for work one morning. She opened her dresser drawer to get her underwear and found a baby opossum staring back at her from the middle of some black, frilly, lacy, unmentionable things.
Opossums … you gotta love ‘em. The little rascals. /Gary

One of that possum’s Texas cousins found its way into my home a couple of years ago. Imagine my surprise to catch a movement out of the corner of my eye to see it peering inquisitively over the edge of my bed at me! I gave him a ride out of town.

this is cute. We had an opossum crawl up into my husband’s car and then the opposum drove from Oakley to Brentwood, and then decided to come down from the car at the Oil change place in Brentwood. Let’s just say we have one oil changing technician who will not go near my husband’s car anymore! The opossum was fine, he was scared, but he dropped down from the car and ran off into the bushes. I guess he was unknowingly relocated from Oakley to Brentwood.
Cheers!

I have a question, the opossums eat the nuts and sunflower seeds and then regurgitate them all over the remaining nuts and sunflower seed. What is that all about?
