I don't know about these particular streetlight birds, but I recently noticed that a mom&pop bird had nested in a light fixture above the BART tracks at the Pleasant Hill BART station. I first noticed one bird gathering twigs, and the other "sitting guard" on the light fixture, and in the days that followed, as I paid more attention and listened more closely, I realized I could just barely see several little peepers stretching their mouths up to get the food that the parents were bringing. Then one day, I didn't hear or see the birds. There are others that like to fly around the BART station, but I just hope that BART didn't prematurely shoo these out of the nest, and that they instead had grown up and out on their own.
