You’ve probably heard of a “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof?”
Well, here are two hot squirrels on a hot back fence.
EVERYONE — man & beast — was hot this last weekend. Whew! Like these overheated squirrels, we cope with these things as best as we can. Stay cool, my friends … especially your pets. /Gary

One young resident squirrel out of a group of three will regularly spread-eagle himself in a shadyspot in my courtyard for about 30 seconds, even when it is not hot, and then get up and chase about again. Doris Pleasanton

They also like the shady part to eat their food, the wall does get hot. I have seen my squirrel lay like that on the wall with her limbs hanging down after she has pigged out on the peanuts I gave her. They are so much fun to watch and my grandson loves watching them also. In fact our mama squirrel comes knocking at my sliding glass door or on the screen to get my attention so I can feed her, and she actually takes the peanut from my hand when I hold it out for her.
