San Francisco Bay Area readers: Get out your carving knife and stretch your imagination.
It’s time to create a Jack-O’-Lantern masterpiece for our Bay Area News Group-East Bay newspapers’ Pumpkin Carving Contest.
Here’s how it works:
Carve your pumpkin, snap a photo and then upload your high-resolution picture to our Pumpkin Carving Contest album online at http://www.contracostatimes.com/bay-area-living or http://www.insidebayarea.com/bay-area-living. To be an official entry, you must include your full name, city of residence and brief description of your pumpkin in the caption field.
Our staff will judge the pumpkins in the following categories:
Best Kids (12 and under, and the child or children must be in the picture).
You also can help pick the Reader’s Choice winner by voting for your favorite in the online album — just open the picture you like and select “Vote as Best.” There’s no limit on the number of times you can vote.
The contest and voting ends at 5 p.m. on Oct. 19. The winners will be published Oct. 28 in the BANG-EB TimeOut section. Honorable mention recipients will be featured, along with the winners, in an online slide show on the same day.
Happy carving! — Gary Bogue & Ann Tatko-Peterson
