Contra Costa Animal Services is having a HUGE cat & kitten adoption event this coming Sunday (Oct.11), from noon-3 p.m.

The shelter is usually closed on Sundays, but it’s kitten season and they have a LOT of adult cats and kittens they need to find homes for.

The shelter is located at 4800 Imhoff Place, Martinez. Main desk phone is 925-335-8300.

Been looking for a cat or kitten? Now’s the time … and this is the place! /Gary

Re: your column about Animal Services. I visited last Thursday and totally agree with you. I adopted 2 female adult cats who did not know each other. They were spayed Friday and came home on Saturday.
The staff and volunteers made my visit enjoyable and rewarding. The cages were clean and the animals had clean water and lots of food. There were so many cats needing homes, it was very sad to see.
Charlotte and Gracie have adapted to their new forever home and each other very well. I’m planning on keeping them inside but want to harness and leash train them for the rv.
Thanks to the unsung heroes at Animal Services, I have 2 new companions in their forever new home.
