Dear Gary:
While exploring waterfalls in the McCloud/Mt. Shasta area of California, we came across this beautiful Shasta Alligator Lizard. The photo doesn’t do it justice, but gives an idea. Both the yellow and the blue were much more brilliant that the photo shows.

The two photos were taken near Dunsmuir, Calif. Mossbrae Falls is one of those falls that you need to plan on plenty of time to sit and enjoy. http://www.waterfallswest.com/waterfall.php?id=382
Seeing the lizard and the waterfalls reinforced just what an amazing place we live in. Northern California is spectacular!

Dear Lindy & Dan:
The Shasta alligator lizard (G. c. shastensis) as you can see is one of the most beautiful of all the alligator lizards. If fact, I’d call it spectacular … almost as beautiful as Mossbrae Falls! Thanks for sharing these photos with us. /Gary
