I have a dog in Benicia. All of this “Benicia is bad for animals” is wrong.Crazy left wingers that think that animals have more rights than humans. Come out for the “Dog Day By The Bay” with your dog and enjoy it!

I agree with the first statement. As a veterinarian int this town, I have had to put so many healthy dogs to sleep, because of forced euthanasias for provoked “nips”. They further have directly told me that if an animal dies of suspected poisoning they will not investigate as it is “just an animal”. It is despicable the way they treat the pets in this town. I could go on, but as there is a law suit pending.

Hi,
We live in Hayward and have a hill and somewhat vacant land behind our house. There’s a landlord that maintains the property and is allowed to have his cows on the property. Usually, he brings about 15 female cows (all pregnant) and one bull in early spring. We throughly enjoy watching them, especially when they have their calves. He usually removes them mid summer, but this year he left the bull, female and calf. Unfortunately, they have found my morning glories that I have been trying to cover the wire fence for 3 years. And, they are fastly eating them away. I don’t want to fight with the landlord, nor do I want to hurt the cows, but what can I do to keep them from eating them.

Benicia has a very well known reputation around the East Bay as being the most UNFRIENDLY city to dog owners in the Country. Dog Nazi’s is how the City Government is usually described in dog parks across the Bay Area. This celebration is a total farce. What are they hoping to do? Lure dog owners to the park to do spot checks on current licence and pass out tickets for being two feet off of “designated dog trails?” I wouldnt be suprised if the parade route ended in an incinerator! If you love your dog….STAY AWAY! Gary Bouge, IM disapointed you didnt do your homework on this one.
