More photographs from our photographer friend Dave Harper of Oakley, Calif. Dave is one of the many talented local photographers who regularly send me great photos of local wildlife. Enjoy!

If you have interesting wildlife photos you’d like to share, please e-mail copies to Include photographer’s name, city where you live and any other interesting info. I’m sure others would like to see them. Thanks. /Gary

Some wildlife pictures of late. These are the dog days of summer, so I have concentrated on animals lower to the ground. A large “tarantula hawk,” along with insects and a small bird. I am going to return to Point Reyes soon. Should get some decent elk shots if I can beat the fog.

This tarantula hawk wasp was a couple of inches long and swallowed lady bugs as it grazed on the milk weed. Tough time for photos, take care.
