Dear Friends:
After 14+ years, we said goodbye to our lovely Sierra Marie last Friday. Our vet was able to come to our house, where Sierra was most comfortable, and let her go here.  She had a rough last year, and it was time for her pain and discomfort to end.

Call me crazy… but what can you say about a dog that loved you unconditionally, poked your pregnant belly with her nose, taught you how to parent, strengthened your marriage, let your toddlers pull her ears and tail, sat with you as you mourned the death of your parent, walked two miles each day with her leash in her mouth, was known by name by all in the neighborhood, traveled with you on almost every family vacation, was with you during most of your marriage and every milestone in your young family’s lives, cheated death two times, and let you know when it was time to let her go?

She was an incredible friend and a huge part of our family.

We will miss our furry girl, we will never forget her, and we thank you for allowing us to share how much we loved her with you.

Just say “I’ll see you on the other side” and let them go forth into that good night. “Thank you, good friend”.

Faith is knowing that life’s spirit is eternal and Sierra Marie and all of our beloved guides are still with us.

Hopefully Sierra Marie will hook up in dog heaven with my Maggie who went over the summer. Sounds like you had a very good dog, and she was very lucky to have had you.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Sierra Marie was lucky to have shared her life with you….and you were ever so lucky to share hers.

Your Sierra Marie sounds exactly like our wonderful white German Shepherd, Tara, who was the same for me and my 2 children. We will never forget her and my heart goes out to you. You are not crazy. Tara was given to me the year before my son was born. She was a great support and a wonderful baby then children watcher and protector. She also was a bit of a rascal and one time when my kids were in the local school a block away she jumped our fence and was sitting in the driver’s seat nonchalantly waiting for us. We didn’t need to worry about open windows and locked cars so much then, 38 years ago. Please remember the happy times and know that the tears will still be there as mine are now and I think it is OK. I feel for you. I like Frank’s “life’s spirit is eternal…………” Lovely
