A couple of flickers passed through our Brentwood yard, but they have moved on. They always arrived in our Walnut Creek yard in the fall. What is their migration pattern?

I’ve seen a small bird with a yellow tail, trying to negotiate itself on a cactus in my yard. It was jumping from top to top, and learning that a cactus can prick. I’ve also see a blue bird that I thought was a blue jay, but the next was longer, and I saw some gray on it’s back.

A couple of massive birds have been seen flying, united, low and very fast over a road in New Jersey State during New Year eve. The witness are confident that what they saw is not a known bird, at least to this region.
Would you happend to have herd of anything of the like recently? I know it’s not much to dig with… but if you could help it would be most apreciated.
