I don’t think spay/neuter & release is a good plan for domesticated rabbits.

I rode up Redwood Road to Chabot regional Park today. As I was stretching my legs in the first parking lot I saw a female Anna’s hummingbird bobbing around my wheels. She was right on the ground and appeared to be picking up tiny sand grains or maybe something else too small for my old eyes to see. It looked like she picked up maybe a dozen somethings, some that she had to stick her snoot right up underneath the wheel! I never thought of a hummingbird needing grit for a crop, but could that be what she was picking up? …or was she just enjoying some nice fresh juicy (but very small) critters?

What a fabulous spring day it was for a ride!
