Thanks for writing about our sweet tarantulas, I found one on the path at Contra Loma Reservoir last week and moved it to a safer place; I tried to figure out which direction it was heading…SO COOL, I had never seen one since i was a kid on Mt Diablo.

Dave: Same (and flies — also no compassion). I will escort spiders out if they’re within the capture range; otherwise, I simply find something else to do. Shower stall — they’re moved (to protect them).

Years ago I killed two black widows as I went out to retrieve the paper. It was the first time I EVER saw black widows.

I went through a confessional with the guy in charge of the blog, and was informed of how common they are. I felt pretty ditzy …

One of these autumns I want to get up to Mt. Diablo to get some photos of the tarantulas. Those would be so cool! And as I type there scoots a little spider up the wall! : )

Spiders have a free pass in my household. Better spiders than flies and other pests. The only spider I would not tolerate are the ones with the red patch on their belly.

I don’t mind pictures of spiders, but I’m never at ease when one is close by. They may not be deadly but they just give me goosebumps and I would lose my sanity if a tarantula would drop over me. So far, I don’t harm spiders, because they don’t bite unless threatened.
