I've seen one on Mt. Diablo and three at the Round Valley Regional Reserve.. A big male stopped and watched us, about 30 ft. away.. I happened to run across a smaller female hiking the Hardy Canyon Mine Trail. She was stalking a ground squirrel and didn't hear me.. Once she saw me, she ran off.. Beautiful cats!
