It’s Friday morning, April 6, 2012. As of last night, four of Mother Goose’s six eggs had hatched. As I’m writing this, it is still too dark to see of the last two eggs have hatched. I’ll let you know when I find out.
You can also see for yourself by clicking on this link to our Mother Goose webcam: http://www.mercurynews.com/pets-animals/ci_20129776/streaming-video-mother-goose-2012-reality-show
In the meantime, check out these beautiful photos of the four chicks that have hatched to date by Doug Duran, one of our staff photographers. Talk about cute! Doug got these great shots through a window in the hallway that goes past the rooftop where Mother Goose has her nest.

These little goslings are so cute! It’s been so much fun to be watching this saga. Just like in a book we all want to know what happens next and then after that too. Such beautiful photos!

Wonderful shots Doug! I love the second photo down where it looks like one of the goslings is voicing his displeasure about being crowded upon. See the open beak! Someday the Times will install a microphone, I hope. The top gosling is enjoying the solar warmth with total bliss. Thank You Gary and Doug and Thank You Times.

Gary,
Nice photos. I had thought there was a camcorder set up,
but that would be a lot to expect. I particularly like the last of the photos above. The play of light and dark is remarkable.

What a delight to watch! To see one of the goslings take that leap of faith and jump was astounding and exhilarating. Nature in action is soooo coool. Can’t wait to see pics of them going to the pond. Thanks so much.

You have made my day. That is the most precious video I have seen , & your involvement must be so satisfying. Love the geese. I will be on the lookout for them!! Thank you!

Thanks again Gary (pied-piper of the geese) It was so awesome to see them follow you and have a happy ending. Jim in security enjoyed the watching the progress and it brought a smile to our faces. Thank-you

I think mama knew that she had to vacate the roof while the goslings were light enough to bounce back after the jump. If she waited another day, they’d be heavier. Little number four was a survivor. Thank you Gary for intervening. How about a few bales of straw next year!

What happened to number four? Only saw three on the video
