Domestic shorthair cat, female, blue and white, 14 years old. Shy, subtle, sometimes chatty, Scarlet would make a low-maintenance addition to any mellow home. Warm laps, tender pets, and a little doting affection are just a few things she is looking for. If you feel there is potential to make a picturesque, long-lasting memory, Miss Scarlet is the cat for you.
Scarlet is at Pets Unlimited, 2343 Fillmore Street, San Francisco

*** GUS:
Hey, guys! I’m Gus, a gentle giant. The nice people at the shelter tell me I’m some kind of a Tornjak mix. I’m 5 years old and came to the shelter as a stray in March. I’m a very calm and sweet guy. I really enjoy being around people and will make a great companion. Think I might be the dog for you? Come to the shelter and ask to meet me. I’ll be waiting!
Gus is at Oakland Animal Services, 1101 29th Ave., Oakland
