&quot;Due to the holiday season, the deadline for filing an application for this task force has been extended to 5 p.m., Tuesday, January 9, 2007. The Hayward City Council is seeking citizens of Hayward interested in serving their community as Hayward&#039;s representatives to the KEEP HAYWARD CLEAN AND GREEN TASK FORCE, a 30-member task force made up of workers, organizers, and policymakers will lead this effort. This task force will be comprised of residents, landlords, and business and property owners appointed by the City Council. Twenty to twenty-five of the members must be Hayward residents. Applicants will be invited to interview with the Council in mid-January 2007.

The City is looking for a dedicated group of people to improve the appearance of our City by keeping City streets free of trash and debris, and by working with property owners to insure that their properties are clean, safe and sanitary. An additional purpose is to help the City improve its performance in this regard. This is your opportunity to be involved and see your neighborhood improve.

		<description><![CDATA[ok I printed out the application and will turn it in by Wednesday. I think this is a really good idea. Hayward could look 100% better if it was maintained properly and consistently. We need more than one clean up day per year; at this point we could use one a month. Wish me luck!]]></description>
