The city manager answers Monica's question about E Street: "The short answer is yes. As reported at the April 10 and 17 City Council work sessions, in response to comments received by the City on this issue, the project now includes pedestrian crossings at Mission, slightly south of Jackson. A traffic signal, pedestrian-activated, is proposed to be installed to accommodate such movements."

If a pedestrian is walking west on E St. towards Jackson how are they supposed to cross Mission Blvd? This is a popular way for students that live in these neighborhoods to walk home. Did any one take that into consideration? Or again are you putting the needs of commuters before Hayward citizens? I'm opposed to this so called " improvement. " Just because the city doesn't want to lose the money doesn't mean they have to lose their minds. We need to get commuters off Hayward streets not encourage them to drive through Hayward. Wake up city council!
