The biggest problem business faces is affordable housing .Many of the chamber members don't want to confront their fellow chamber members who are landlords and other apartment owners since they are members of a kindred spirit organization . So that would be the rational thing to do it won't happen. Even though our major competitor China pays probably less than one fortieth the cost that we pay for housing. Granted few Chinese have 5000 sq. ft. houses like Americans.Germans pay about half what we pay in rent nad they have fine German crafted housing.
Another idea would be an Insurance Triple Play. With non profit insurance we could insure everyone with health care for less than what we pay now with 6 million uninsured . We could also have a pay-as-you-go auto insuranse system where people paid car insurance at the pump reducing the big insurance bueacracy , bueaacracy being one of the chambers pet pieves. It would also give people the incentive to conserve. We could also have a non profit workman's comp system which would save even more money for business because the thing businesses hate more then paying an injured worker workman's comp , is payong a workman's comp CEO millions .
