If we repelaled amenment #2 of the US Constitution we could write another whiched revoked the idea that we need an AK 47 mounted over every fuireplace and an uzzi under the pillow.

When I was in the Army, (fortunastely it was peace time service in the Germany.) Wether or not we were in basic training or sitting in a tank waiting for the imagined commuinist onslaught, our weapons were under lock and key by an NCO assigned to that task. No ammunition was available unless it was for training purposes.

That nut at Ft. Hood bought an automatic pistol, added ‘clips’ and ammo from an off base arms dealer…..

When will we learn that the National Rifle Association does not rule the country and that rifles and shot guns without clips, requiring a squeeze of the trigger with each shot, are all that a true sportsman needs to go hunting.. Were it otherwise… why not plant mines in deer grazing areas or use dynamite in rivers, streams and lakes as a fishing technique ( saves the time and mess of untangling fish lines, baiting hooks and brings in ‘the limit’ much faster thus allowing more time for grog around the camp fire!

So far this year four officers in Oakland, subseqquently three more in Pittsburgh Ps, and now four in Washington State..( not to mention the kids at Columbine High School)…. and NRA thinks it a service to the country to retain Amendment 2 as written…… ( written by those fine gentlemen who remembered the French and Indian wars occuring at a time when our… .back door was open to unknown dangers of an unexplored continent.)

We no longer have unexplored areas but the law of the jungle seems to be taking over our urban cities.
