The issue is dead since the folks seeking the recall have lost ..... the signatures they gathered and turned in were disaterous in the count .....

You speculate on ability of trustees when you imply that they might make a budget mistake exceeding the amount of the recall expense. One mistake does not generally follow another at that level! You ought think about that a bit more.

Some of the blog comments made by an Oakland Resident, (O'Bama.newage were libelous!)

I read the petition as posted on the internet.... I saw no mention of the cost advice to those sought for signatures.

In reference to a conversation currently taking place under LWV Forum regarding HUSD and the special election petition …

When first approached about a petition for a special election, I was concerned about the cost as well as the disruption. I must tell you, as an applicant, there were several inconsistencies in how the interview process was communicated to the various applicants regarding reference letters, public comments, etc. This conversation was taking place in the room where applicants were sequestered, prior to the appointment. I do feel the deliberation was rushed and the move to appoint was done swiftly, as if to indicate the decision had already been made. The process being followed is completely above-board and I am disappointed in the tone taken on this blog relating to the character of those involved in the petition. The cost of a special election is $388,488 and clearly communicated on the petition. This money is significant, however many believe that the cost is negligible compared to what a few reckless decisions could cost our District. This process is no different than allowing the community to express their thoughts on the District through “ad-hoc” meetings. If enough signatures show that the community wants an election, why discount that voice? A quote from Winston Churchill represents both sides of this discussion: “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” Let’s all show some respect and understanding for those who are willing to stand up for what they believe to be right.

Just warching

Ms. May did complete her term. She won a two year term after departure of previous person to occupy that chair.

Sincerely desireous to aid HUSD, she walks away from opportunity to hold on to a seat which comes with a stipend of about $26,000 per year in order to run for a seat on Board of Trustees, which paays a measely stipend of $9,000 per year.

She is a graduate of Mt. Eden HS a campus which needs help! ( as do all others ), the lady is sincerely desirous of aiding students. She ia worthy of voter's consideration in the November election.

Cerainly more than Audie Bock ! That individual ( Bock ) does not give a damn about the cost of a recall election..... read the the 'Wikepedia' link as indicated at # 20 above...LEARN THAT AUDIE BOCK'S NEED EXCEEDS THE NEED TO CONSERVE THE CASH PAID OUT BY HUSD IN A SPECIAL ELECTION.

IF SHE IS SO DAMN UPSET, LET HER RUN IN NOVEMBER!

Wow. I really don't see anything different here than Anna May leaving her elected position on the Hayward City council after only 2 years to peruse a School Board Position. Ridiculous, complete one term of office first before jumping all over town.

BOTH ANNIE WILKES AND AUDIE BOCK ARE BALMY !

THEY HAVE CHOSEN LAWRENCE FITZPATRICK TO BE THE FRONT MAN ON THE RECALL PETITION WHICH IS SOLICITED ON THE INTERNET ADDRESS SHOWN ABOVE. ( at item 19 above))

MR. FITZPATRICK IS A WELL INTENDED GENTLEMEN, HONESTLY CONCERNED ABOUT HUSD AS WAS OBESERVED WHEN HE RAN FOR THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IN YEAR 2008 ELECTION.

HE LOST! BECAUSE WHEN HE PRESNTED HIMSELF AT THE VARIOUS 'CANDIDATE FORUMS ', HE HAD EQUAL OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK TO THE ISSUES CONFRONTING THE SCHOOL DISTRICT. HE SEEMED TO HAVE A SINGLE TOPIC! A SERIOUS MAN BUT INARTICULATE AND POSSESSED OF INSUFFICENT EDUCATION TO FULLY GRASP THE NEED FOR BROAD EDUCATION AS WELL AS EXPERIENCE IN AFFAIRS OF BUSINESS AND/OR EDUCATION.

THE ABOVE CRITICISM IS ALSO APPLICABLE TO A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF OUR CITIZENRY WHO ARE CONCERNED OVER THE FACT THAT ‘SOMETHING IS WRONG’ WITH HUSD BUT ARE UNABLE TO DO MUCH BUT POINT FINGERS WHILE EXPRESSING NEGATIVITY, WHILE FAILING TO UNDERSTAND THE BASIC ISSUES CONFRONTING OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM.

MR. FITZPATRICK WAS ONE OF THE TEN INDIVIDUALS WHO PRESENTED AN APPLICATION AND SUBMITTED TO AN INTERVIEW BY THE FOUR REMAINING TRUSTEES. HERE AGAIN, BOTH HIS APPLICATION AND HIS INTERVIEW, AT WHICH HE WAS GIVEN AMPLE OPPORTUNITY FOR ORAL EXPRESSION BUT WAS FOUND WANTING……AS TO HIS QUALIFICATIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS, WHETER IT BE ORAL OR IN WRITING.

MR. FITZPATRICK IS AN HONEST, WELL INTENDED MAN OF A TYPE WHICH HAYWARD, ( CITY AND SCHOOLS ) COULD USE ADDITIONAL SUPPLY. WE AS INDIVIDUALS ARE NOT ALL SUFFICIENTLY GIFTED TO HANDLE THE PROBLEM PRESENTLY FACING OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT.

I SUGGEST THAT MS. BOCK HAS USED MR. FITZGERALD, FOR HER OWN PURPOSES. THOSE PURPOSES DO NOT JUST FAIL STUDENTS IN THE USE OF NEEDED MONIES.AT LEAST SUBLIMINALLY, THOSE FUNDS EXIST FOR PURPOSES OF SERVING HER PERSOANL AMBITIONS SEEN IN THE PURSUIT OF A RECALL ELECTION! I SEE HER COMPLETELY IGNORING THE FACT THAT THE RECALL WOULD OCCUR LESS THAN SIX MONHS FROM PRESENT TO THE DAY OR OCCASION AT WHICH A MORE HONEST, OPEN CANDIDACY WOULD OCCUR AT THE SCHEDULED, EARLY November school board election.

That lady’s emotional condition is running wild with personal desires to be elected to office, any office, as long as she wins an election! Have you opened opportunity to review the personal and political history which Kurhi ‘posted’ Simply click on her name at upper right corner of the ( ABOVE) photo she provided with the article on the blog appearing almost immediately after Trustees chose Mr. Armas to fill the vacant seat..

DO IT ! CLICK ON HER NAME IN BOLD TYPE AT UPPER RIGHT CORNER OF THE PHOTO ABOVE!
