At http://www.insidebayarea.com/endorsements you will see evidence of the ANG newspaper group abandoning their business in Hayward…… they did not bother offering explanation of why it is tjhat they refused endorsements to any and all candidates for election to HUSD board of trustees.

SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS, CONTRA COSTA TIMES AND THAT ONCE GREAT, NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED OAKLAND tRIBUNE… IN A CITY ONCE PROSPEROUS BUT REDUCED TO COMPETITION IN SEARCH FOR A NEW TITLE “SHOOTIHG RANGE BY THE BAY”

Three papers of the conglomerate will survive….. San Jose Mercury News, Contra Costa Times, Oakland Tribune.

Now do you inderstand the need for a TOWN HALL MEETING ? That device will aid HUSD far more than any news article created by a staff member of ANG.

Perhaps the present weekly newspaper serving Southern Alameda County will be induced to cover news from San Leandro, Castro Valley and Union City as well as the news frequently occurring outside the HAYWARD Police Department’s ‘blotter’ which seems to have been the central activity of the dying, local fish wrap industry.

With the loss of 238 bypass we saw departure of any chance of continuity in Mission Blvd AUTO Sales, (sales tax and advertising revenue) which was needed to keep a local newspaper present in the community of Hayward. Great thanks must be given the HAPA crowd…. perhaps more of that bunch will move to Ashland in Oregon…..

I reccmend the SF Chronicle fot it’s news content and the presence of Chip Johnson on it’s staff. He does a good job reporting on Oakland….. much better than the Oakland Tribune. Perhaps he will extend himself a bit and give Hayward a few lines with real content, now and then!

Then we also have present in the Chronicle and local TV, that up and coming fella Mr. Matier who I believe lives somewhere in Alameda County…. I SAW HIM AT SAN LEANDRO’S EDITION OF THE COSTCO STORES 0N SEVERAL OCCASIONS…….. ANYONE KNOW HIM?

It is about jobs….at City hall as wellas P.G.% E; add in the jobs thought possible of the folks living in housing suchas at Palma Ceia sub-divisions where heat loss in low cost construction is heavy and where costs to cure are even heavier…. cutin heat loss at some of the low cost tracts will be very heavy…. beyond the ability of many to cope even with entivements by P.G % E. which, naturally enough is concerned about ability to deliver energy in the coming problems with weather and ecology…. not to mention population increases.

Will we have enough snow and animal skins to cope, in the fashion of the Eskimo population? Igloo structures use human body temperatures to heat those homes.
