This is a long delay because I had not read the responses to my post. Kathy thank you for your comments and I too found Mr Kyles comments to be snide and at times besides the point.
I wasn’t speaking about the proper location scientifically. I was speaking about the fact that even if it were scientifically feasable it would not be built in an affluent neighborhood.
Are the lungs of the children of Hayward less important than the lungs of children in a more affluent area? The fact that children in Hayward routinely cut across train tracks to get to school was about the value we place upon the lives of children depending upon where they live. It is a matter of cost. I guess it costs more to build a walkway over the tracks than it costs for the lawsuits when a child dies. This has happened in Hayward.

I do indeed know the various definitions of snide and I believe that the word best fits your commentary regarding the postings of other people’s opinions and thoughts.
The only favor you did for her was to help her decide not to read what you post…it is difficult, to say the least, to understand what you are saying; it reeks of your own superior attitude; it is filled with your typos and misspellings.

Frankly, I tgink I did the lass a fovor the result of which may cause her to reflect a bit more….. ’tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool than it is to speak up and remove all doubt! ( an observation made by Abraham Lincoln… which may not have been passed along at which ever law school you claim to have attended.

Sometimes you take posting words too literally. I think Ms. Artis was simply making a statement of her opinions regarding how it appears that communities that have less affluent members seem to end up as the “perfect place” to put power plants and other questionable industries. I got what she meant and it certainly wasn’t referring to what you concluded. Why must you be so snide to almost every person who posts an opinion?

BUILD A POWER PLANT AT BLACKHAWK ? My goodness, did your parents vote for Mr. Wallace in the elections of 1948 ? Your tone causes reminiscence of ‘left wing’ political thought which met it’s end many years back.

Place the power generating plant in Black Hawk? Did mommy and daddy put you up to some ‘self expression’ without regard for criticism?

1.) The present location offers exceptional opportunity to make use of the recycled water emanating from Hayward’s sewage plant. Or would you prefer to see that effluent dumped into S.F. Bay waters? Perhaps you would prefer seeing it mixed into your drink water faucets?

2.) Do you overlook the excellent opportunity to feed the new electric power into the closely located, existent power lines? That opportunity alone has attraction in offering reduced costs of supplying the much needed power, if we are all to continue enjoyment of being able to ‘turn on’ the all important TV or computer game sets.

3.) After a long expensive struggle, much delayed by thoughtless folk, at additional expense to all, including low income folk, the ‘approvals’ have been gained and much crying will not delay the project!

4.) Where were you with your comments at earlier date?

5.) What have railroads to do with this situation? Perhaps you were thinking of denying electric power to BART or electric powered controls at RR Crossings?

Perhaps, if you bring this response to attention of mom or dad, they will avoid putting you into another embarrassing situation.

If this power plant is so wonderful, why aren’t they building it in Blackhawk? Oh, they don’t have to worry about thir children crossing the train tracks to get to school either. The people of Hayward need to stand up and stop this powerplant. It is just another example of how children from lower income families are being treated as if they have lss value as human beings.

Online stories have one of three affiliations, with either the CCTimes, Tribune or Merc. Review stories get a Trib affiliation. Don’t read too much into that.

I can’t speak to why Chris doesn’t blog, except to say blogging is optional. Really, we’re short staffed over here and it’s not thought of as the best use of time. So it’s up to the individual reporter to interact via a blog, if they want to, if they have a chance to do it.

Qodrn, I suspect that the management of BANG desire comments in general directed out of the BLOG mode and into the comments or opinions to the stories themselves. Based on the quality of the comments in Hayword, I think that BANG management just wants to ignore the posters to Hayword. I cannot say that I blame them much.
