1) I hate to agree with Quirk, god knows I can’t stand him. But here I do very mych agree with him. Gang injunctions are not proven to work in many cities and I think a program like Cease Fire is a much better choice. We shoukd also look into LA’s answer which in CRASH. (Community Resistants Agianst Street Hoodlums).

We must do something about our crime now! With the introduction of the gang from Oakland called the Boarder Boys, and the continued violence, I think it is clear we must do more than a mere injuction program. And further more I think this is an indication that is is not working.

2) Point two is this, I was upset to see the Mayor thinks the crime problem in our city is from low academic proformance in our local schools. Are you kidding me? Of course there is a problem with crime, he dosn’t get it.

Greg won the Mayor’s Award last year for his neighborhood activism and we work closely with the KHCAG task force. We’ve gotten a lot of support from the city, but we have to raise the money for much of the equipment and trees ourselves.
