We can certainly look forward to an exciting spring, according to the Mayor and the Budget Committee. I am sure that Eric will fill every one in, but this Spring and Summer promise to be very exciting.

Corita organizer tells me that Hollywood actress Eva Marie Saint ("On the Waterfront," "North by Northwest")will be attending the Corita Celebration kickoff this evening. Her husband, TV producer Jeffrey Hayden, will be talking about the artist.

I will go to the meeting this afternoon, I think. Perhaps we will see each other. According to the city by laws the city manager can call emergency meetings. These are the Council members: Barbara Halliday, Bill Quirk and Michael Sweeney.

Meeting Schedule: Quarterly on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall, Room 4B. Special meetings will be scheduled as determined necessary by the City Manager. The committee also reviews the Capital Improvement Plan as part of annual budget review.

I hope that you were able to attend the first session of the HUSD board meeting. It would be nice to know what the discussion and decision(s) were regarding the search.

City of Hayward just announced a special Council Budget and Finance Committee Meeting for 3:30 p.m. Friday, in room 4B at City Hall. Topic: Discussion of Redevelopment Agency bond and financing options.

So today’s HUSD meeting will be held in two parts. The supt. search portion goes from 1 to 3 p.m., that’s followed by a closed session and an hour break, with the special education work session starting at 5 p.m.

The small Corita exhibit at the Castro Valley library is great — I saw it yesterday. I have to admit I didn’t know who she was, but now I’m eager to learn more.
