All:

How many have taken the time to write the Alameda County folks in charge of re-aligning the boundaries of the five supervisorial districts?

You will be angered, just as I was, at the RECOMMENDATION BY CITY OF PLEASANTON THAT CITY OF HAYWARD BE SPLIT IN TWO!

PLEASANTON FOR GOD'S SAKE! THOSE YAHOOS ARE SUFFERING MIGHTILY OVER THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE FIVE (5) PAROLEES LIVING IN THAT SCHOOL DISTRICT!!! tHEY WERE FOUND GUILTY IN A RECEBNT LAWSUIT OF AVOIDING abag'S LOW INCOME HOUSING QUOTAS.

POOR KATHY BOOTH AND MS.ROCCIO LIVE IN ZIP CODE AREA 94541 JUST AS I DO.... WE ARE ABLE TO 'BOAST OF THE FACT THAT WE HAVE SOMETHING OVER 900 PAROLEEES AND PROBATIONERS ( YEAR 2010 NUMBER) LIVING IN 94541

SCHOOLS SUCH AS FAIRVIEW, CHERRYLAND. LONGWOOD AND STROBRIDGE HAVE TRUANCY/ABSENTEE RATES OF WHICH WE CAN SAY...'THEY ARE THE TOP OF THE LISTS' ENUMERATING LARGE ABSENCE RATES.

I SUGGEST YOU PHONE aLAMEDA cOUNTY'S REDISTRICTING GROUP OR WRITE THEM A LETTER ADVISING WHAT YOU THINK OF pLEASANTON'S KIND ASSISTANCE IN THIS MATTER...

tHERE IS A CORRELATION TO BE MADE AS BETWEEN THE HEAVY PRESENCE OF PAROLLEES AND PROBATIONERS AND SCHOOL ATTENDENCE FAILURES ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU COME AROUND TO RECOGNITION OF THE FACT THAT PAROLEES HAVE A RECIDIVI9SM RATE OF 40% IN THEIR FIRST YEAR OF BEING ON PAROLE.

DO NOT BE TOO SMUG IF YOU LIVE IN ZIP 94545 OR 94544 ONLY 94542 IS BELOW 150... ALMOST AS 'SAFE' AS PLEASANTON. The problem with 94542 is...'which half gets stuck if Plesanton prevails in the re-alignment battle.

Write to the re-alignment committee to day c/o Ms. Lockyer using the Hayward ADDRESS OF HER OFFICES.

TODAY! TOMORROW IS TOO LATE! CALL (510) 259=1097 FOR E-MAIL ADDRESS !

Well, if you missed it, Faith Ringgold has survived another year. Apparently it is moving to another school. Not exactly sure how that saves money, but anyway that was the solution. The district will eliminate the principal position, but they will still need an overseer. I don't think they are really saving much. Happy to hear that the board didn't believe the savings listed on the report. The savings came from a list you can find in the FITAG minutes. I hear that not one supervisor voted to close the school. How embarrassing for whoever brought this up.

I get the feeling that if FR closes, some of the board members might find their tenue a bit shorter than they intended. Of couse the trioka with Walker is resurfacing. But it is too late I think. I don't think the newly elected board is paying attention to the people and it can't get along either. At least some board members have their own agenda more or less kept secret until their election. How would the board handle the schools if no layoffs were possible? At this point I would rather see less school days then close everything down. My first suggestion is start school after labor day. That extra week has not made any difference. And guess what? You wouldn't have to cut art of kick someone out of a job to to this.
