Possibly about the HUSD; but you know all aboutthat sinjce your husband sat on the board of tr4ustees atrthe time of his firing….. hubby also was a leader in the hire of the Lady from Florida… some real vetting there !
HAVE NOT SEEN THE MAN SINCE OPENING /DEDICATION OF STONEBRAE SCHOOL DONATED BY THE DEVELOPER WHO WAS ALERT O AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS AT sTATE LEVEL. HAPA GUY, (THE GREATEST EDUCATOR HAYWARD HAS EVER KNOWN FILED A LAWSUIT ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE THE
‘SUNHSET’ OF FUNDS AVAILABLE AT STATE LEVEL… AND UNLIKE 238 BYPASS… HE LOST!

THE AMUSING THING WAS THAT cHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, A VERY OLD GENTLEMAN, WHO NEEDED VIGIL TO SIT IMMEDIATELY AT HIS RIGHT ( NEAR HIS GOOD EAR?)ADJACENT SEAT TO ADVISE WHEN AND WHAT TO SAY, STRUTTED AB0UT AS THOUGH THE STONEBRAE SCHOOL WAS HIS IDEA.

THAT HIGHLANDS AREA PROFESSOR DID HIS DAMNDEST TO KILL THAT PROJECT…HAD STONEBRAE BEEN BUILTR OUT 20 YEARS EARLIER WITH A GOLF COURSE AND THE DONATION OF ABOUT 2/3 OF THE PROPERTY PLUS THE SCHOOPL SITE/PARK ETC…. HAYWEARD WOOLD RIGHT N0OW BE ENJOYING THE PRESENCE OF A WELL DEVELOPED SUBDIVISION WITH PRESENCE OF WELL HEALED FAMILIES WITH BRIGHT KIDS…. AND OF COURSE TYHE TAX INCOME FROM A FDULLY DSEVELOPED SUBDIVISON RATHER THAN WHWT WE HAVE NOW.

wHAT REALLY TICKED ME OFF ABOUT THE
STONEBRAE DEDICATION WAS THAT THE TEACHERS WERE IN CHARGE OF THE CEREMONY… AND NO MENTION WAS MADE OF THE DEDICATED TASK FORCE MEMBERS WHO LIKE MYSELF CONTRIBUTED SOMETHING WELL IN EXCESS OF 100 HOURS WORKING WITH THE ‘AD HOC’ GROUP UNDER THE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING… REALLY TICKED THE PROFESSOR OFF THAT HAPA had only three of his devotees within that ad hoc group. They consistently voted no !

So there you go, Mrs Booth, plenty material above to keep yourself busy as the community’s greatest antagonistic gossip.

I’ll bet a buck or two that you have something negtative to say about the new Supt. well prior to the conclusion of School yeae 2011-2012.

At next meeting of the Board at HUSD, you really ought attend and use public cdomments, to say something nice about MS. DURAN.

THE LADY HAS INTERRUPTED HER RETIREMENT ON TWO OCCASIONS TO COME TO HAYWARD AND AID US IN A TIME OF GREAT NEED!

THE FIRST OCCASION OCCURRED WHEN WE MADE THE MISTAKE OF TERMINATING THE CONTRACT OF MARLIN FOXWORTH.
I recall his open comment ” Presence of a great many students in our classrooms lasts but a year or two and even then his/her presence occurs on an intermittant basis. So how do you expect improvment in test scores.”

HEA was of no help on that ocasion also; to say nothing of the depth of thought by trustees.

So, Ms. Duran came forward and we replaced the gentleman with the lady from Florida who was poorly vetted; she ran a bit loose with the expense account when replacing office rugs and re-arranging the ‘old’board room. Using a relatively high cost employee as a chauffeur did not help anymore than did the quarrel with fund raisers over rent at Centennial Hall.

So Dr. Duran came forward on that occasion too!

I recall her casting doubt over the hire of Dr. Vigil as well as her quick return when that fiasco was concluded. The lady has ‘class’ which I find lacking in some of her critics.

Becnel might have handled it… intelligent, quite knowledgeable but strong tendency to be abrupt.

Frankly, wasn’t Marlin Foxworth, (a man I admiired for his openness and intellect), a man of color? His wife and son were!
