HAYWARD — Hayward High School’s musical program is having its biggest fundraiser of the year this Friday and Saturday.

Band, orchestra and choir students will be performing individually and in groups at Cafe Merengue, a relaxed coffee house-type venue. You can buy an inexpensive dinner or dessert, bid on silent auction items, take part in the raffle, and kick back and enjoy some amazing music.

Admission is only $10. The music starts at 7 p.m. Friday, April 12, and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at 1633 East Ave.

The school district only pays for the music instructor’s salary. Everything else, including uniforms, school instruments, cost of going to “home” games at the old Sunset High field, etc. is paid for with funds raised by the music boosters. If you can attend this weekend, it’s a worthy cause. Or feel free to send a donation.
