Arson occurred in the area of Huntwood Ave and West Tennyson Road. Someone forced open a locked utility box and set fire to the contents, causing damage that shut down phone service in the area.

Officers responded to a call of a suspicious person at a residence. When officers contacted the subject, the subject fled. After a short pursuit the subject was stopped and found to be in possession of stolen property from a recent auto burglary and was arrested.

An officer assigned to downtown patrol observed a suspicious vehicle which he has stopped by other officers in the area of Grove Way and Locust St. When officers approached the vehicle, they observed a handgun in plain view inside. The driver and passengers are removed and a search of the vehicle recovers a large quantity of narcotics and currency.

Officers responded to a disturbance at the 1200 block of A St. Upon arrival they contacted a mentally disturbed female in a business that began behaving erratically. When the female grabbed for a weapon on a counter she was stopped by officers and arrested for being under the influence.

Officers were called to a school board meeting regarding a suspicious person with a weapon. When officers arrived they contacted to male juveniles with replica firearms. Both males were arrested.

A vehicle was reported driving recklessly in the area of Tennyson Rd and Calaroga Ave. An officer located the vehicle near Miami St and Decatur Ave and observed a male and female struggling inside. As the officer walked up to the vehicle, the female inside suddenly jumped out, and the vehicle fled from the scene. The female passenger told the officer that she had been kidnapped by her ex-boyfriend in Oakland and driven to Hayward. A search for the vehicle was unsuccessful. The female victim was driven to Oakland Police Department where investigators took over the case.

A burglary to an occupied residence took place in the 27000 block of Le May Way. The suspect kicked in the front door and began ransacking the residence. The burglar fled when confronted by the victim.

During a traffic stop in the area of Rousseau St and Mission Blvd, a vehicle was impounded. An officer searching the vehicle recovered narcotics and a stolen firearm. Driver and passengers were arrested.

02/15 10:30 AM
An officer observes a suspicious vehicle in the area of Tampa Ave and Cheryl Ann Ct. The vehicle comes back as stolen, and when the officer contacts the driver, he flees from the vehicle. The officer chases and captures the driver a short distance away. Stolen property from an auto burglary is recovered inside the stolen vehicle.
